About The Role
FTI Consulting is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Consultant to join its Forensic Litigation and Consulting (FLC) team in São Paulo, Brazil. This team specializes in conducting corporate investigations, compliance and integrity assessments, and ESG evaluations. It uncovers actionable business intelligence, supports clients in commercial disputes, and provides clear, strategic analysis to help decision-makers mitigate risk, protect assets, and capitalize on opportunities across various jurisdictions.
The team’s expertise includes investigative due diligence, asset tracing, fraud and anti-corruption investigations, litigation support, whistleblower allegations, third-party integrity screening, political risk assessments, and other tailored engagements.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned, analytically minded professional with excellent writing skills and a strong work ethic. They should have experience working in a commercial environment and demonstrate the ability to take initiative. As a team player, the candidate must effectively engage with senior management, junior analysts, and clients. As a skilled communicator, they should excel at conveying complex ideas clearly and articulating findings to both internal and external audiences. Additionally, the candidate must possess an inquisitive mindset and the ability to think laterally when solving complex problems.

As a Senior Consultant in the FLC team, you will also collaborate on cross-segment projects with other FLC teams, such as Forensic Accounting Advisory Services and Data and Analytics. Furthermore, you will work with other FTI Consulting practices, including Strategic Communications, Economic and Financial Consulting, and Technology.
What You’ll Do
Senior Consultants play a critical role in supporting a diverse range of complex, multi-jurisdictional projects. These include conducting risk assessments, compliance and ESG analyses, investigations, and investigative due diligence.
In this role, Senior Consultants are expected to coordinate and guide the work of junior analysts while also performing independent, high-quality research and analysis. This involves leveraging a variety of search engines and proprietary databases available to the company, all while managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
While collaboration within a team is essential, Senior Consultants are often tasked with independently driving research initiatives forward under the guidance of senior management. This requires flexibility, critical thinking, and the ability to identify and pursue relevant lines of inquiry effectively.
Key responsibilities
- Preparation of client deliverables via oversight of the desktop research
- Coordinate team output by briefing and managing junior staff members and external resources
- Maintenance of case deadlines, and verbal and/or written updates to the client, to ensure the timely reporting of client deliverables
- Involvement in overall case project management and administration
- Support research and drafting of project proposals and broader business development initiatives
- Training and support of junior analysts
- Contribute to identifying and developing resources useful for investigative research
- Consult with and take direction from senior case managers and clients on project status, timing, and deliverables

What You Will Need To Succeed
Senior Consultants are exposed to high-profile and intellectually demanding work and need to have the ability to identify key issues, think creatively, and work as part of a team. Strong research and analytical skills are required, together with an eye for detail, and, most importantly, an inquisitive nature coupled with a clear belief in honesty and integrity. Additionally, the following are required:
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Law, Economics, Business or International Affairs
- Minimum of 2+ years of post-graduate professional work experience in compliance, ESG policies, investigations or related industry
- Strong writing and verbal communications skills in Portuguese and English
- Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven research and analytical skills and a flair for investigative interventions, including a desire to recover information, identify facts and uncover the truth behind complex and opaque situations
- Strong writing and verbal communications skills Spanish
- Knowledge and interest in current affairs relating to several relevant subject areas such as politics, international business and security
- Dynamic mindset and ability to work autonomously without direct supervision
