About The Role
The Data & Analytics (D&A) practice is a high-performing team that works across both corporate engagements and litigation matters to deliver data-driven solutions to our clients. As experts in analytics, data science and data management, D&A is involved in engagements requiring advanced data analysis methodologies that span the areas of corporate strategy, litigation, investigations, disputes, compliance, regulatory support, financial crime, fraud, analytics for performance improvement and application development The team employs a range of analytics tools and techniques as well as expert data engineering capabilities to deliver solutions.
As a Senior Director, you will be partnered frequently with subject matter experts, giving the unique opportunity to work with a diverse set of clients as well as engage with a team of economists, strategy and transformation consultants, technologists, or corporate finance professionals across the FTI organization.
Example projects include:
- Create systematic process to perform extensive analysis of decades of transactional data from numerous disparate source systems to trace funds and determine true value of customer accounts in Ponzi scheme investigation
- Aggregate, standardize and analyze data from thousands of PDF files containing call log information to identify fraudulent activity in a price fixing investigation
- Develop a machine learning solution to forecast demand for charging a company’s electric vehicle fleet across time periods and geographies
- Partner with a cross-functional FTI team to perform an environmental, social and governance (ESG) assessment across the entire portfolio of a private equity firm
- Develop a suite of operational dashboards with defined KPIs to allow the executive team of a manufacturing company to better track and manage the business
What You’ll Do
You will be responsible for delivering day-to-day data analytics services to our clients. A Senior Director provides clients with analytics solutions through complex data-intensive analyses requiring a deep understanding of relationships among multiple internal and external data sources, complex modelling and information sharing. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Managing the lifecycle of entire projects by effectively delegating responsibilities to junior team members, managing the client relationship, and executing on the statement of work.
- Designing and managing the development of analytic solutions using a range of methods and tools as appropriate for the problem presented by the client
- Designing and managing complex data models including both external and internal client data to facilitate analysis
- Supporting the research and development of data and analytics assets used across project and solutions
- Managing core analytic development and data engineering work at the core of all projects
- Interacting on a day-to-day basis with FTI team members, client personnel and advisors, typically serving as client day-to-day contact leader
- Overseeing creation of project documentation, visualizations and written analyses, reports, or presentations
- Nimbly juggling multiple client and internal priorities and switching between tasks, sometimes in a high-pressure environment
- Developing and adhering to project budgets and timelines. Assist in project staffing decisions
- Coaching and mentoring younger team members
- Participate in business development efforts including proposals, collateral development and identification of new service offerings. Participate in business development meetings with clients. Develop and maintain professional relationships with current and prior clients
- Participation in and delivery of FTI’s extensive internal and external training opportunities to help build your own skillset as well as develop new capabilities to be leveraged for our clients

What You Will Need To Succeed
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- Experience managing multiple workstreams/projects, delegating responsibilities to junior team members, and managing client relationships
- Experience manipulating and analyzing large data sets
- Experience working in a team-oriented environment
- Experience using SQL and Python to collate, transform and analyze data
- Having strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and excellent communication (written and spoken)
- Being highly motivated, hard-working, eager to learn and able to motivate others
- Able to work in a team as well as independently and adapt quickly to dynamic tasks and deadlines resulting from new or changing priorities
- Experience coaching or managing multiple direct reports
- Able to provide quality assurance and supervision and effectively communicate status and escalate priority issues
- Able to produce high quality work product under challenging time constraints
- Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering consulting services
- Experience using data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI
- Experience collecting, aggregating and standardizing data through web scraping, PDF parsing, etc
- Proficient in data engineering using data stores including MS SQL Server, Oracle, NoSQL, Hadoop or other distributed data technologies
- Proficiency with a wide range of data science concepts including natural language processing, statistical analysis, regression, clustering and various algorithms or predictive models
- Knowledge of data governance and data privacy best practices
