About The Role

The Life Sciences team supports pharmaceutical and medical device companies, along with related suppliers, with some of their most pressing operational challenges. We work alongside clients to drive moments of transformation, whether that be launching a new drug, cutting operational costs, handling legal disputes, or improving operational efficiencies. Some common functions we support include: supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, quality, regulatory, commercial, global trade, etc.

Our team is made up of a range of highly experienced professionals with backgrounds in both industry and consulting, and we deliver our services to clients around the globe. We have team members in many of our major offices, including New York, Boston, and Chicago, which helps foster a collaborative team culture. Our Consultants are a crucial part of the team and support engagement teams and clients on a day-to-day basis. Tasks can range from developing the core project deliverables to presenting to the client.

In addition, there will be opportunities to contribute to practice development initiatives aimed at further strengthening our internal team (i.e., thought leadership, employee resource groups, early talent recruiting, etc.).  

 

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to team problem-solving and strategy discussions, helping identify potential solutions and next steps for client challenges

  • Lead development and review of project deliverables, support clients in their decision making, maintain client relationships and go beyond the scope of the project to become a strategic advisor

  • Lead day-to-day project leadership with clients, including team coordination and reviews, tracking deliverables, and helping ensure high-quality outputs

  • Build expanding relationships with your colleagues in other teams of the firm. Keep a close ear out for client needs and strategically guide the Life Sciences team to continue to grow

  • Pro-actively build out innovative service offerings that are requested from our clients. Participate in strategic discussions surrounding hiring, team reviews and broader team growth

  • Ensure findings are communicated clearly to clients, both verbally and in writing

What You Will Need to Succeed  

 

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant post-graduate experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, life sciences (e.g., biology, chemistry, etc.), business, operations, or other quantitative, analytical, or process-focused fields

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas

  • Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s), as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in the life sciences industry or the consulting industry

  • Strong project planning and time management; ability to work with limited supervision on assigned workstreams

  • Excellent analytical skills, with proven experience in data cleansing, building models, distilling insights, and creating recommendations to resolve complex problems

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills; particularly with Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience with various tools such as Power BI, Excel Macro / VBA, Think-Cell, and/or Tableau or other business analytics tools
