About The Role
The Risk & Investigations North America (“NA”) Senior Director – Operations role will be focused on serving as the operations lead for the R&I NA practice. In addition to the following Operations role, this SD will continue to provide client service work, with an expected utilization target of 30-50%, depending on caseload. As part of this utilization requirement, the SD will be focused on delivery and project management on multiple matters.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with the R&I NA Product Leader on all operational matters
- Oversee R&I NA National Staffing team and support R&I NA Leadership Team in tracking availability and utilization across the R&I NA sub-products
- Assist the R&I Product Leader in creating the strategy plan for each year which directly feeds into the budget
- Work cross functionally across marketing, sales, service and finance to deliver improvement to R&I’s strategic planning & sales enablement operational infrastructure
- Manage and conduct objective research on current market trends, client competitors, project/staff management, financial performance, key operating indicators, and other related topics to support critical analyses
- Attend monthly meetings with Marketing point of contact and R&I NA Product Leader to discuss efforts to consolidate R&I marketing materials, current requests, and go-forward process improvements
- Oversee Spring and Fall early talent recruiting efforts for all R&I offices in conjunction with HR team
- Work with R&I Leadership team on experienced hiring recruiters to confirm hiring goals and vet candidates for open opportunities across R&I offices. Draft communications to come from the R&I Product Leader to the R&I NA team and others
- Clearly summarize gathered data and facts, confidently communicate/present findings to members of senior management as needed, develop action plans with clear accountability, and PMO change efforts to improve the business
- Ably manage projects from beginning to end with minimal supervision; take responsibility for initiatives within the R&I practice
- Write in compelling ways in both vertical and horizontal written formats; be creative in conveying ideas and data on the page
- Have a high tolerance for ambiguity; deal well with unexpected or adverse situations
- Strive for high-quality deliverables; drive projects to achieve maximum impact for the team and the firm
- Understand how his/her own work fits into the broader business context

What You Will Need To Succeed
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years of relevant post-graduate experience
- 5+ years of experience in consulting or a professional services environment
- Strong quantitative skills to supervise data analysis, interpret output and generate insights
- Ability to travel to FTI office(s) as needed
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree, e.g. MBA
- 7+ years of experience in consulting or a professional services environment
- Prior experience managing business strategy projects in complex environments
- Ability to make detailed assessments of industry, products, markets, competitors and customers to identify risks and opportunities
