About the Role 

 

Our Risk and Investigations team conducts research and investigations to uncover actionable intelligence and performs value-added analysis to help decision-makers address and mitigate risk, protect assets, and make informed investment decisions to maximize opportunities. Our experts conduct independent investigations to help clients resolve a variety of issues, including: 

 

  • Fraud investigations  

  • Anti-bribery and foreign corruption (FCPA / UK Bribery Act) investigations and risk assessments  

  • Whistleblower allegations  

  • Litigation and compliance support 

  • Due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and cross-border transactions  

  • Business intelligence  

  • Assets searches  

  • Vendor screening & assessment programmes 

  • Intellectual property theft and brand protection  

  • Political risk assessments  

 

As an Associate / a Consultant, you will be required to work on client engagements under the supervision of more senior members of the team. You will typically undertake tasks such as gathering, organizing and reviewing accounting and financial data, performing calculations, undertaking research, and documenting your work.

 

You will benefit from on-the-job coaching from experienced members of the team, and will be supported in undertaking an appropriate accounting qualification. You will also need to develop a strong knowledge of the legal process, especially with regards to litigation, fraud and compliance issues.

 

What You’ll Do

 

  • Reconstruct accounting records from incomplete information.

  • Analyse and interpret accounting records and assess the reliability of accounting evidence.

  • Review financial statements for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Undertake company and industry research.

  • Perform financial, ratio and comparable company analysis, and basic financial modelling.

  • Document assumptions, methodology and information sources.

  • Assist with preparation of reports and presentations.

  • Work closely with senior colleagues on client matters.

  • Attend and participate in client meetings.

Basic qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.

  • Enrolled in, or planning to pursue, an internationally recognized accounting qualification.

  • Associate Position: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience. Exceptional recent graduates may also be considered; If you are a recent graduate, please submit your application here

  • Consultant Position: Minimum 3-4 year of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated background in accounting. Experience in financial investigations, litigation support, or expert witness services is preferred.

  • Strong command of written and spoken English plus proficiency in an Asian language.

  • Excellent report writing, analytical, and quantitative skills.

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial research tools.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Highly motivated, eager to learn, and adaptable in fast-paced environments.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet demanding deadlines.

  • Team-oriented with strong client-facing skills.

  • Professional work ethic and high level of integrity.

  • Able to travel to client and FTI regional offices as required

  • Able to attend regional/global meetings outside standard working hours.

  • Target commencement date: Q3 onwards.
