About The Role
FTI Consulting Inc.’s Environmental Solutions practice is seeking a consultant with experience in environmental science or a related scientific field to assist with the execution of environmental-related litigation consulting projects. The Environmental Solutions practice works in the areas of alternative dispute resolution (arbitration and mediation), litigation, forensic historical research, cleanup cost and damages allocation, environmental claims analysis, and financial and cost accounting. What You’ll Do
This position requires the ability to understand, interpret, and analyze environmental data in support of the Environmental Solutions practice’s various projects, as well as an understanding of various environmental topics, including:
- Environmental statutes and regulations, with an emphasis on CERCLA and the National Contingency Plan
- Hazardous waste storage, management, and disposal requirements
- Contaminant fate and transport in the environment
- Investigation and remediation of contaminated sites
- Environmental sample collection and laboratory data interpretation
- Technical report interpretation and analysis, including work plans, sampling plans, quality assurance plans, and completion reports
- Environmental cost analysis
- Database management
- Data analysis
- Geographic information systems information interpretation
Primary Duties
- Analyze and interpret technical reports and environmental sampling data related to the investigation and remediation of contaminated sites
- Develop and/or support the development of tables, figures, and reports summarizing findings
- Assist in the development of data repositories containing environmental sampling analytical results
- Review, compile, organize, and manage large volumes of environmental reports and related records
- Understand, review, and analyze environmental cost documentation, including contracts, invoices, change orders, and unit rates
- Perform technical and scientific research, including analyzing scientific literature and scientific studies
- Contribute to written work product and presentation materials for clients, including reports, graphs, and charts
- Work on multiple projects concurrently

What You Will Need To Succeed
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Geoscience, or related technical field
- 1+ year(s) of relevant post-graduate professional experience in environmental science or related field
- Experience developing and implementing environmental sampling plans and/or work plans and interpreting environmental sampling data; proven analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to think critically and to plan, prioritize, and set goals
- Experience working on multi-disciplinary teams (staffed by geologists, scientists, historians, etc.) in a fast-paced environment to meet critical client deadlines
- Ability to travel to client and FTI office(s) as needed
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship.

- Flexibility in working on multiple assignments concurrently and taking direction from multiple senior professionals; Ability to work well under pressure and to work independently
